    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would strongly recommend this course with this professor for many reasons. Firstly, Dr. Ou is an extremely well educated professor that not only demonstrated a strong understanding of the course material, but displayed a passion for it as well, which is essential in effective teaching. The ideas behind the course work may be considered difficult by many, but it is made manageable by the assistance and understanding of everyone in the math department willing to help out.

    Course highlights:

For me this course really opened up my eyes to the power of mathematics. I have always struggled with math but have never given up, and through this course my appreciation for the intricacies of math and its beauty. I learned how functions of math are present everywhere and how what I learned can be used very practically to create incredible things.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to be successful in this course, you must have a desire to be there, and a willingness to put in the effort to learn. A helpful tip would be to always do the homework the day it is assigned and to not get behind on it. By doing it right away, it is much easier since it covers the material that was most recently taught in the class. Letting the course work pile up will only create stress, but that can be easily avoided by being active and diligent in the course work.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to people who would like to obtain a strong understanding of math. Dr. Anderson makes connections and will make sure that you understand the concepts.

    Course highlights:

What I gained form this course was the ability to problem solve. The purpose of math courses is not so much to remember everything, but to develop a logical style of thinking that mathematicians use.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework. It is not a major part of the grade but doing the homework will help in studying for exams. What I would do before exams is go back and rework the homework.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this class because Dr.Boucher gives us enough questions to practice on before the test. Also some of his homework questions were hard but it was worth practicing.

    Course highlights:

It helped me to understand the concepts better and I still remember the part where I needed to solve the volume of the function which rotates.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not hesitate to ask questions to either your professor or the tutors who work in the Math lab. Try to finish understand what you learned in the class soon.
