    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course. Professor Lawhon is the best Professor I have ever had. He truly cares about his students and really engages everyone. He focuses on making sure that you know the information for educational purposes rather than for a grade. It was easily the most interesting class I took this semester, and maybe even out of my entire time in school.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much throughout this course. A big one was the American Revolution. I learned a lot more about the people involved and the founding fathers. We discussed not only how they helped and nourished America, but who they were outside the office. We went in depth into the lives of the people that built this country instead of sugar coating them. We also did the same with people who founded and colonized the country. Learning more about the people gave me a better understanding of what this country was built on.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The biggest thing is to utilize the study guides given. There is one for each test and they are very helpful when studying. Ask questions during or after class, he is willing to give answers especially for terms on the study guides to help clarify what will be on the test. Study for the exams, don't just know definitions, know details and concepts.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

There are a number of reasons I would recommend him. First, he engages you and your mind throughout the course. There is not a moment you aren't drawn in. Second, he speaks his mind. Unlike some professors today, he is far from politically correct. Whatever he really thinks of something, he will tell you.

    Course highlights:

His course covers from the discovery of the Americas to the start of reconstruction. My personal highlights were the Constitution and the starting segment - that being "What's in the news?".

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

So long as you read the book and go over the terms day by day, you will pass the class with ease.
