    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course teaches a great insight into the ocean, including everything that factors into it being normal. Everything is covered, from the largest currents in each ocean, all the way down to different particles making up the ocean floor and seawater. This 16 week course compels the student to put in extensive thoughts to complete the understanding of everything it teaches.

    Course highlights:

Taking this class alongside Biol 111, is very helpful. The generic information learned, is covered in both courses. One the best things I learned in this course, was about thermophile microorganisms. Those creatures are very interesting and can survive in the most extreme environments. A huge highlight of this course is the Planet Project, you create a world using the information you've learned all semester in class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to actually read the textbook instead of skimming it. Seriously, read.
