    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course due to its applicability in every day life. The student learns about contemporary issues that affect us throughout life and how to prevent certain things from happening down the line. The class explains issues such as binge drinking, STDs, smoking, sun exposure, tanning beds, etc. that the students may not be aware of.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were getting a hands-on approach to contemporary issues that involved the student doing his own research to know more about the topics. This provided a more in-depth knowledge on the topics in the long run than simply copying down notes from a PowerPoint. For example, students were assigned a particular STD to research in groups and present it to the class. This allowed for a more personal take on the information and allowed it to sink in better. The same applied to different topics covered such as substance abuse, diseases, and other viruses.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I highly recommend this course because the knowledge gained from it is useful in daily life - no matter what your career will be. Everyone faces several of the contemporary issues discussed in this class at one point or another, and the knowledge gained ensures that you are prepared for when that time comes.
