    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is required for all psychology students.

    Course highlights:

This course gives psych students a preview into the research portion of psychology. It is imperative that students learn the proper research techniques and become familiar with APA format. After taking this course, students will be more confident in conducting their own research.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be proactive with your assignments and check the syllabus everyday. The assignments all coincide with one another, and its better to turn assignments in early so that you can work on corrections.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is a great introduction to what you would experience in graduate school. It is an entirely research based class, which discourages people frequently, but the course taught me so much about research in the field of psychology. Additionally, I got to pick a topic to focus on for the entirety of the semester in order to conduct my own research proposal.

    Course highlights:

Because each person was required to pick a topic to research and then present, I was able to learn about things I was personally interested in while also learning about things I've never heard of. I thought it was really cool that this course was set up to be like a graduate course. It definitely gives students a little taste of what to expect so that they can decide for themselves whether graduate coursework is the right path.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Start your research early and do not put it off. You will regret it. The research is supposed to be conducted over the semester, so don't try and jam it into a few days span. It was very easy to tell which students prepared and which students didn't during the in-class presentations, and their grades suffered because of it. You're able to pick your own topic to research, so pick one that you have a passion in and it wont even feel like research!
