Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course is generously curved where your grade in relation to your classmates are more important than your letter grade. That being said, the TA's are typically notorious for terrible grading and will often take points off for the silliest of reasons.

    Course highlights:

The course was tough however did provide a great foundations of discrete mathematics such as proofs by induction, set theory, and graph theory.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Actually do the practice problems in the textbook and take notes over the online modules. The tests are open note and the test questions are similar to the ones you do in class... So go to class

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I like the material a lot, and while Klivans is very sassy, he also cares about your success very evidently.

    Course highlights:

You learn a lot about theory behind computer science, and lots of necessary stuff like graphs and elementary logic. Also, it's required, but for a required course it's lots of fun!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to your discussion, it's definitely not the worst one out there and you learn from it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is great! I was super intimidated to take it to begin with because discrete math seemed like a tough subject, but Klivans makes the class enjoyable.

    Course highlights:

The class problems are a lot of fun. They are quite challenging, but it is interesting to see how the theoretical concepts we learn are applied to practical applications.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Many things. First, study the material after class. Nobody is a genius at discrete math to begin with, but you become one. Second, do the homework. It's easy to look up solutions online, but thinking about the problem will teach you more about the subject.
