Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I can't really recommend (or not recommend it) since it's a required course for Architecture students, but I would definitely say to be thoughtful in the course - it's teaching a lot of fundamental skills and will be really helpful (near necessary) in your design process down the line.

    Course highlights:

I learned to be patient with myself in this work, as well as follow my honest intuition. The projects that were most successful had a balance of both coming from a place of intuition and experimentation, but also, refinement and thoughtfulness. By developing a logic and understanding what you are trying to convey, the work can be much more impactful. At the same time, it's okay if you can't really figure out what is necessary or what you want out of the project, and that's where experimentation and happy accidents become just as vital a part of the creative process.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say to be critical of your work, but not of yourself. If you feel discouraged, you won't be happy with your work and it'll be difficult to grow, but if you're able to approach this course as a learning experience and try to be enthusiastic about it, it'll show in your work and how happy you feel with it. Also, it important to plan ahead in this course! Many of the projects will require you use limited resources that everyone is trying to use, so you'll feel much less stressed out if you start early and are able to plot or finish the project before the servers back up.
