    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course was challenging due to the large amount of material covered but the professor and the TA's definitely gave us plenty of resources through which we could study and learn.

    Course highlights:

The professor was very good at explaining the material and drawing out diagrams to lay out the details of the biological systems. He was very patient with answering questions and held convenient review sessions during office hours.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read before attending the lecture! Go over notes at the end of each day and attend office hours to clarify any subjects you may not fully comprehend. It's a lot of information that is covered, but definitely try to join a study group.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I wouldn't recommend this course if it's to be taken to fulfill a requirement. It has too many things to memorize and it has decently hard concepts. It also requires a lot of study at home.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course include the group project and discussion sessions. Discussion sessions were fun because students would solve tough worksheets together. The group project was fun to put together and I got to learn about a topic of my choice.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Review lectures as soon as possible. There's a lot of content so get a head start in it as soon as possible. ICA's (In class activities) are spread out in the exams so go through those for the final and midterm. Replace your bible with the professor's course guide.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is an intensive intro course that is perfect for anyone requiring a thorough knowledge of biology at the cellular level. It is better for people who learn by listening and reading, however there is definitely hope for visual learners too.

    Course highlights:

After taking this course, you should expect to have an in depth knowledge of the Central Dogma, cellular respiration, aerobic metabolism, the cell cycle, and how organelles interact with each other to ensure normal cellular function.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend doing all of the readings and taking advantage of the practice questions provided in the text book. There is also an extra credit website she uses that has a study area full of helpful videos and diagrams. She's also really good about answering questions during her office hours.
