    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor and teacher assistants are passionate about art, but accepting of all opinions.

    Course highlights:

I learned that there is more behind an art piece than what meets the eye.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate on the essays or the reading. Although there are not many assignments, the few you get are important and will determine your overall standing in the class.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was an interesting class that at first I was reluctant to take but after doing the readings and the assignments I found that I had a great respect for the art world and contemporary art. The work is pretty easy and at the end of the semester you will discuss memes being post-internet art which is pretty fun.

    Course highlights:

Talking about memes at the end of the semester was great. Every section of the semester there is an artist or two that has amazing works that have you rethinking the meaning of art. There are also some that are so crazy that you would never have thought it was considered art but at the end of the day you will learn why these people do these crazy things.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read all of the reading materials and I strongly recommend getting with your discussion group and making a google doc of all of the material you need for that section. You will thank me later. I also recommend going to all of the classes (as attendance is mandatory) but also because Professor Flaherty will take keywords from the students before an exam that he will use on the exam therefore you want to be there to get the definitions for those in class.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this class if art isn't an interesting field for you. If you have to take this course because of core requirement, be open minded to what you will learn in this class.

    Course highlights:

I am not interested in art and neither its history, but I was able to survive the class. if you think this is one of the classes were you will get an easy A, your are wrong

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The class itself is not difficult all you have to do is show up to class because attendance is mandatory, do your reading which is too much and turn in all your assignments. the assignments are not hard, all he cares about is grammar and word choice. no matter how great are your ideas if your grammar is not good you will not get a good grade. its basically a writing class related to art.
