    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Most thought provoking and eye opening class I've taken at UT; professor has tons of industry experience, will challenge you while connecting the dots between geology, petrophysics, drilling, formation evaluation/logging classes.

    Course highlights:

Lectures are extremely important to attend, Verdin also gives thorough lecture summaries for things to remember. You will learn gamma ray logging, resistivity logs, and 'porosity' logs for shales and sandstones. The information is invaluable in relating the different aspects of petroleum engineering. The professor works for all kinds of operators doing training for incoming hires and is highly qualified, so you really get the best information out there on well logging.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not hesitate to go to Dr. Verdin or his TA's for homework advice; tests are very similar to HW
