    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Professor Kimmel makes weather and meterology really interesting! Taking this course changed my perspective about the importance of weather outside of everyday living. He really makes the effort to help out students during office hours, and he takes the time to answer any questions that students have in class. After taking this class, I kind of wish there was a meteorology degree program.

    Course highlights:

In taking this course, students are able to learn about weather phenomena and what causes them, such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. Professor Kimmel also discusses in detail the fundamentals of weather that are important to understanding what goes on in the atmosphere. He also highlights what goes on in the upper levels of the atmosphere because the weather up there is important for aviation, something that so few people ever consider when they talk about weather.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take very good lecture notes! Whatever is mentioned in the lecture is going to be on the test! Also, reading the textbook helps if you want to be prepared for the next class's lecture.
