    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is very interesting and you definitely learn a lot on your own. You mostly teach yourself by watching videos, reading the book, and going to class. The only thing is that the exams are very difficult, simply because they cover so many chapter at one. It is hard to know what they are going to ask you.

    Course highlights:

This course taught me pretty much everything you need to know about the basics of advertising and how to study focusing on concepts rather than just memorizing facts.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Learn the concepts well, watch every video, read the book and take notes on the lectures, go to class, and study the class lecture power points.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Even though it is a required course for Advertising and PR majors, this class is actually really interesting. It gives you a first look into the world of media and advertising. For me, this class was my first interaction with a class actually in my major. It shows the behind-the-scenes look at advertising and is the first step in thinking like someone in the business, and not just a consumer.

    Course highlights:

I think Professor Dudo was definitely one of the highlights. He is clearly very intelligent, and always made the class upbeat and interesting. He was there for students after class who had questions and always clarified things that were not being fully understood. As I said, I learned how to think like someone in the advertising business as opposed to just a consumer as I have been the past 18 years. I learned about the ethics of the advertising business, common persuasive tactics used in ads, and a lot of interesting history of the advertising field.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You definitely need to read the textbook! Take good notes during his lecture, but understanding the textbook is vital to doing well on the tests.
