Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He's very entertaining (very sarcastic), and he does a good job of making sure that everyone student finds his teaching style effective. My semester he took multiple opportunities for students to comment on what he can improve on. His homework is long and hard, but his tests are based off some of the more basic problems in the homework. If you can do the homework, you can do the test. His A- cutoff is also an 85 so that helps a lot!

    Course highlights:

He's a very good teacher. Physics is usually a very difficult subject for me, but he did a good job of breaking things down (don't be overwhelmed when he explains how the formulas came to be using calculus (you don't really need much calculus at all to do well in the class). There are multiple tutoring opportunities, and a lot of resources he makes sure everyone knows exists.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework even though it is optional! If you can't do the homework without looking at the key go to a tutor or the TA so they can explain the problem to you. The tests are basically the more important (testing the concept not to trip you up) problems, and if you can get the homework down, and not just memorized I can guarantee you'll get an A.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Yao is a great professor but the course is incredibly intensive. The textbook is not required but you better do every single homework and understand everything to ensure that you get an A.

    Course highlights:

The professor knows what he is doing and is kind and helpful.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do all the homeworks and make sure you understand them.
