Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I'd taken Chinese one twice before this, because the professors (at a different university) were all so gosh dang awful at explaining the material. Liu laoshi, however, put it together very well and helped me catch up to the material for level 2. The textbooks are excellent, she is very patient and understanding, and the way the material was drilled into you was very effective.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to get around, basic grammar, and even gained enough of a foundation in the language to successfully study abroad in Beijing for a semester (in a language program, naturally).

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Drill practice sentences, both reading, writing, and speaking them. Go over vocabulary regularly. I would also highly recommend going to office hours if you don't understand a grammar point (it's not going to go away!)
