Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is a great introduction into Prehistoric through Medieval Art, it gives an adequate amount of time on each time period in between without being overwhelming. You get a good overview of this time period and an understanding of both of the historic background and the context of how the art came about.

    Course highlights:

I took art history in high school, but since I am an art major I have to take it in residence of UT; therefore, most of the class was a refresher for me. But Papalexandrou does an amazing job of keeping your interest peaked and is so sarcastic that he makes the class so much better. We also discuss and debate the importance of art and its context which provides individuals with a way to better understand the importance of art.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

There are textbook readings for you to do each week, do them. They are very helpful and help you to better understand what Professor Papalexandrou was saying. It aids you in answering his questions during class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Goldstien loves art history, and he wants his students to love it too. It's a lot of information, but with this class it's not a hassle to want to learn about it. His test reviews are awesome and I ended up being really fascinated with art history by the end. He's such as sweet and funny guy.

    Course highlights:

The best part of this course was memorizing the key images and learning about the really famous paintings, architecture, and sculptures. It really makes you want to travel to see everything.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You don't need the book, but you should go to every class and take REALLY good notes. It helps a lot in the end.
