    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Saxena is tough. But you learn how to be a functioning adult, how to look out for yourself, and how to study. Get a good study group together because no one can catch all the info from her lectures. Textbook is unnecessary, but don't miss class. Quizzes are nice practice for exams. Most exams are curved.

    Course highlights:

Great preparation for immunology, molecular bio, or human infectious disease bio

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study group!!! And all her YouTube videos.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I learned a great deal from this class. However, Dr. Saxena's tests are mostly free response and are hard. You will have to study (and read) a lot to do well in this class.

    Course highlights:

As this was the first of my upper level biology classes, it really taught me how to study the way I need to to be successful in my difficult science classes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to keep up with this class. Do the readings, take REALLY good notes in class. If Dr. Saxena tells you a story that just seems like a fun little anecdote relating to the topic you are discussing, write it down. It will most likely be on the test. If you have a good TA, take advantage of that. They can be a huge help in this class.
