Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is one of the most interesting and entertaining people you will probably meet, and has a passion for the subject. He makes the lectures interesting and, while I had very little interest in just about any "English" subject prior to taking the course, I thoroughly enjoyed the lectures throughout the semester.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Christian made lectures fun and entertaining and made it easy to get help with any topics the students may have had trouble with. He chose very interesting texts to read and interpreted them in a way that anybody could understand. In this course, I also learned different methods of interpreting certain texts, especially poetry, which I had previously struggled with.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Reading the texts is an important part of doing well in this course, although if the workload gets to be a bit high at times then a 'cliffnotes' skim can usually get you by. The exams are open note and I highly recommend that people take advantage of this, even to the point of printing out book/text summaries if necessary and highlighting key parts. Get to know Dr. Christian - this will be a big advantage when exams come around.
