Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend taking this course because of the reading requirements as well as the lectures. Professor Baranay is an amazing lecturer with easy to follow slides while he is speaking. The books that we read were so interesting that I actually enjoyed them...not the stereotypical textbooks. I learned so much more about poverty than I ever thought i would in this course.

The books that we read were so interesting that I actually enjoyed them...not the stereotypical textbooks. I learned so much more about poverty than I ever thought i would in this course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

As long as you get the general ideas of the lectures and books, you'll do great. The tests are not too difficult, but there is an essay every test so be prepared to write. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE ON THE FINAL PAPER.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The majority of this course went over current events dealing with foreign policy, and with the political climate we are currently dealing with, was necessary, socially relevant, and enlightening.

    Course highlights:

Because we were dealing with current events, we frequently dealt with the political effects of having Donald Trump as President and how his leadership affects our relations with the world, in an unbiased format.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Tuning into the lectures is helpful, but reading and listening to the prerecorded lectures are super necessary. The course requires being attentive and socially and political aware.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I thought this was a great class, but I took it online, so I found it a little more difficult. However, I will say that this was my first time taking an online course. There are a lot of modules, and the modules are so important to the course. I think once you are able to understand how to take notes, you can excel in this course.

    Course highlights:

So, this class focuses on American foreign policy, which is so much more interesting that it sounds. Foreign policy affects our relationships with other countries, our trade, and even more. The course evaluates foreign policy by looking back on history, specifically the Cold War, and by focusing on current politics.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You should definitely go through the slides that they provide, there is so much key material on them and key definitions that you need to remember. Also, when going through the modules, be as attentive as possible, a lot of what the professors say is so important and small details can mean the world.
