Not too easy. Not too difficult.
You need to read the book, but he wrote it and is a fantastic resource to the students. He is very egalitarian in the classroom, lets the students decide the grading policy and the quizzes/midterm schedule, and will hold office hours whenever you want. He also does problems in class that are dependent on the chapter you read, so its very important to stay up to speed with the textbook. It will help you a lot in making lecture count.
It was a lot less of an EEP class than any other general Econ I'd taken before. We did not focus a lot on natural resources, but he was very funny, showed a lot of videos and cartoons that made it fun. He also did real world examples and rewarded those who participated in class.

Advice for students:
READ THE TEXTBOOK BEFORE HAND! Go to section to go over last week's quizzes, and take advantage of his office hours. Also, do not be afraid to speak up in class, he really likes this.
