Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course if you have the opportunity to have Shin as your professor. The only drawback is the university-imposed grading scale that only allows for the top 25% of students to receive A's.

    Course highlights:

The amount of time actually studying math (lecture, discussion, office hours) is much more compared to any high school class. The mere repetition of concepts really helps the learning process.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to office hours! Ask questions in discussion! Do the homework slowly and thoroughly!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Holtz was a fair professor and a good grader, she explained the material really well

    Course highlights:

I learned basics of calculus, and end up majoring in math in the end.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it, it is a universal course that is a prerequisite to all science heavy classes
