    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to get a

    Course highlights:

I loved that Stelin would mix in current events with the lessons. The powerpoint presentations weren't just text slide after text slide, but he would put in real-world examples with links to really interesting articles. I felt like I was learning a lot about things that I didn't think that the class was even about!

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I think that students considering this course should make sure to attend lecture. I didn't always read the course material (not because it wasn't interesting, just because I wouldn't have time), but I would go to lecture, and when it came time to review for the final, I wasn't screwed because of it. The final is based off of things explicitly discussed in lecture, you don't necessarily need the readings to do well, but without having gone to the lecture you definitely won't. Stehlin is an amazing teacher by the way. He'll spend all the time you need in office hours with you, and is so patient. He's witty as hell too.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The Professor was an excellent resource and really knew how to get participation in lecture, something which is often not the case at Berkeley. It's important to at least skim the readings (ideally you'd have read them) before lecture so you can participate, and understand what's being discussed in class.

    Course highlights:

This class was very interdisciplinary. Because the topic is globalization, we did readings from a variety of fields, including anthropology, geography, sociology, etc.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This class is pretty easy as long as you attend lecture and discussion, and do the readings. Honestly, by the end of the semester, you realize which readings you can kind of skim and which ones it's important to pay extra attentions too. As long as you do the work though, there's no curveballs. Overall, a great class, and you'll learn a lot about the world! I highly recommend it :)
