    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Utley was a very interesting professor who kept the class very lively. He had very high expectations for his students. He was also very random and spastic with his teaching, jumping from one concept to another to a vacation he took at Yellowstone. This teaching style made it very difficult to learn anything which resorted in me learning mostly from reading the assigned chapters.

    Course highlights:

I gained all the basic knowledge that I needed to excel in the classes that followed. I was well prepared to transfer my knowledge from general chemistry classes to more advanced chemistry such as organic chemistry. I also learned necessary study habits through useful resources that Dr. Utley provided within the course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The test reviews that Dr. Utley supplies cover all the vital information. Make sure you thoroughly understand each of the concepts he has listed, and most importantly, work out suggested problems.

    | Would not recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Utley was useless to the fullest extent of the word. As much as I want to give him the respect he has earned as a teacher, he is just not meant to teach.

    Course highlights:

The most interesting concepts from this course included equilibrium points for solutions. Specifically how adding impurities would either raise or lower their boiling, freezing or vaporization points.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to put in many hours of work and if at all possible take outside tutoring because there is no way to pass this class without spending the time and effort necessary.
