    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is the first semester of organic chemistry. This is a required course for me, and probably anyone in the science field.

    Course highlights:

The highlights would have to be the knowledge, but organic chemistry is not really my forte.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class, take notes, go to office hours, and go to SI sessions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Took the class because it was required for my degree plan. Interesting subject, but be prepared to take a lot of notes, study a lot, and for the large amount of homework. The exams are very comprehensive as well. Make sure to sign up for the lab as well, it covers a lot of what you talk about in class. I believe the lab is CHEM 228

    Course highlights:

Many different types of organic reactions, mostly on the understanding of organohalide reactions. Large focus on structures before, during, and after reaction.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This is not a class you want to take lightly or blow off, because missing even one lecture can set you far behind. Make sure you keep up with the homework and due dates as it is a good percentage of your overall grade. Not to mention, this class involves a lot of memorization, so make sure you spend plenty of time studying. You're also going to definitely need the book, and if your prof provides and optional course pack, just do the smart thing and buy it. You won't regret it in the long run.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You really learn the coursework. Plus he reviews exactly what will be on the test, walks through the material while in lecture, it's pretty neat!

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course are the thorough understanding of the material. He does well to teach you!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to take notes like crazy in this class. Some days he goes incredibly fast and it's hard to keep up, but if you can you get it really well.
