    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are a Biology major, Organic Chemistry is a requirement. This class will make you or break you. It is very tough and requires a lot of attention and dedication. O Chem is not a class to goof around in. It needs to be taken seriously and given all effort.

    Course highlights:

Organic Chemistry is what it sounds like. It looks at the composition of organic compounds, the reactions they undergo, mechanisms, they types of structures, naming and a lot of other topics. I have always had a hard time with acids and bases, oxidation and reduction so reviewing the chapters before hand is very import.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I strongly encourage reading the book and taking notes from the book. When you do the homework, write the problems down and make notes of what you did and why you did it. It can be overwhelming at times, but remember it is just a class. If you read and go to class you should be able to pass the class. Study a week in advance for the exams, and keep up with the homework.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are a science major or you need pre-med classes, this class is a requirement. However, this class can be very interesting if you simply go to class and take notes. Professor Michaels make the topics simple to understand. I will not lie and say this class was not difficult, but overall ,this class was enjoyable.

    Course highlights:

I gained a general amount of knowledge of organic chemistry from this course, especially the way reactions proceed and how to induce them. I also learned of to read IR(infrared) and NMR(MRI) spectrum that I may need in lab work later in my career.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to put a lot of your time and effort into this course and go to class! Purchase a molecular modeling set at the beginning of the year and practice with it throughout the semester.

Its a great course that encourage you to learn about how every chemistry reaction occurs, how things we commonly use are created. This course it is hard, it makes you work.

    Course highlights:

I learn the basics of organic chemistry, naming and how a reaction occurs. Different molecules were studying as well as its mechanisms.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always go to class, and watch as many videos as possible it helps you understand. Practice its also necessary, you have to be able to identify the mechanism that will occur.
