    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is a mandatory class for UTEP students but is very interesting and clever on how they teach to use data structures and algorithms. With this building block many doors open up

    Course highlights:

There were many topics discussed in this class from run times of programs and how to make them faster to a myriad of data structures, B trees, unions of linked lists, and h tables to name a few. All are important in being a computer scientist and will help with many thing such as being able to search a data structure efficiently rather than looking one by one in a stack of thousands of elements.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This class was a little fast paced, reading the material to help follow the lectures was imperative. The book was very helpful but had some technical/mathematical writing so to better understand you might want to do some re-reading. As for the coding part having an IDE like Eclipse was incredibly helpful and knowing how to debug code will make your life easier. It is also helpful to have proper coding documentation which is important and helps with readability and makes programming easier.
