    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The class is a nice way to ease into college, and Professor Cunningham makes it that much better. She is incredibly sweet, and she watches out for her students more than necessary, which can seem overbearing, but really, was the best thing about my first semester. She made sure no one got left behind, no matter what, and she always found ways to keep us engaged.

    Course highlights:

We went over writing skills and ways to survive in college, basically. Things that I did not think I would encounter in a classroom. It helped me have an anchor to go back to when I was getting overwhelmed, because it helped me find a steady place to rely on, and to remember that college is just school. It is a different environment, surely, but it is just school, and there are people willing and able to help me get through it.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay engaged. It is easy to want to think "I already know this," or "I do not need to know this," but as frivolous as the class feels at first, it is a lifesaver, in the end. Do not brush it off, and do not treat it like an easy A, because you will need your professor and peer mentor more than you think, and that counts for outside of that class, too. They are there for you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it taught you more about TLU and the morals of the university.

    Course highlights:

I learned the importance of reading and to always read the biographies of the authors.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the reading because during class it is evident if you didn't read the material. Do the assignments! They can be used as extra points on the exam.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course makes the transition into college easier. It teaches you how to become a more efficient reader and writer, and helps you figure out what professors are looking for when it comes to the quality of your work.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to understand what I read in textbooks and how to pace myself when reading.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, and take the things they teach you and actually USE them!
