    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend it because while it is tough, you DO actually learn and you remember it far after you have completed the course. As long as you read the lectures and ask questions when needed, you will do fine.

    Course highlights:

The highlights for me were mainly about slavery. There was so much more to it than most think. There were a lot of behind the scene events that took place which is interesting to read about.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the lectures, read the textbook, read the assignment books....READ!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I have never been excited to attend class, and this professor makes it interesting while he presents the information at hand. He relates it to current times and explains it "lamens" terms for me! I enjoy reading and learning about History now.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to students because Professor Akins does a fantastic job of working with her students. If you are starting fresh into college, this course will help you get a feel for the college atmosphere without overloading your pallet.

    Course highlights:

Through this course, I wrote an individual research paper that was over the psychological effects of the Salem Witch Trials. I learned mob mentality had a large role in these trials. You really have the opportunity to make this course your own since your semester long research paper is one that you get to pick your own topic. Have fun with it!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course, you must always turn in your work on time. Professor Akins, along with many other college professors, do not accept late work and not getting your work in on time can drastically hurt your grade.
