    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course was great. It satisfied the science requirement for the core curriculum. Professor Packham taught the course in a way that made it very easy to understand and there was very little math involved. He also offered a lot of extra credit which really helped out. Overall I learned a lot and made a good grade.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about astronomy without feeling overwhelmed at all. It was a brand new subject for me, but the class was easy enough to understand and succeed in with relatively little effort.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Attendance is optional, but showing up to class makes a huge difference. His lectures cover what is in the book and then some. It makes the exams much easier if you show up for lecture and pay attention.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Excellent, knowledgeable professor who really goes above and beyond to help students understand material that could be intimidating at an intro level.

    Course highlights:

The course was very good at balancing theory lectures with hands-on, interactive portions to apply astronomy/astrophysics theory in a practical, understandable way.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to the lectures!! Also, stay on top of the due dates for take home/online coursework. There is not reason to not get an A in the class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this professor because he is fantastic; he is super energetic about the subject and gives great examples. If a student needs any help with anything he is right there to help the student with any issue they are having.

    Course highlights:

I have learned many interesting things. For example, i have learned that the color of the sun is actually not orange, it in fact has a slight greenish tint to it. I have learned that white hot is way hotter than red hot. Also, what the difference between terrestrial planets and jovian planets are.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The only advice i have for students that are interested in taking this class is that they should study the power-points and read the book for more information about specific topics.
