    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Garcia did not adequately teach the course but instead simply read off slides.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to study on my own. I learned the strength of studying with others and leaning on your classmates.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Come in with a solid knowledge base of chemistry or else you might have to put forth a little more effort than those that do have a solid chemistry foundation. Take basic chemistry seriously.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was really tough, you are responsible for learning all the material on your own and you will partake in an in-class quiz everyday. Most of class time is spent taking the quiz and then going over it, not leaving much time for actually going over lecture. You really have to dedicate a lot of time to get a good grade.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was getting a better grasp on what chemistry actually is, you learn a lot of trends and conceptual things that I imagine will be used heavily in Gen Chem 2. The biggest thing I took away from this class was learning to better interpret the periodic table of elements and learning how to draw and interpret lewis dot structures.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice, practice, practice. No one wants to hear it, but practicing is what will make you do well in this class. You really have to dedicate yourself to learning the material and also testing yourself over it to make sure you can apply knowledge to other problems.
