    Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

    I thoroughly enjoyed this course because Prof. Johnson created an inviting atmosphere which made it easy to learn.

    Course highlights:

    The class discussions were the best part because everyone participated. Everyone's opinions were always valued and considered.

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Read. Read. Read. Analyze and dig for deeper meanings.

    Course Overview:

    I would recommend this class because it is Reading African American literature is very important because you could learn a lot through the literature of many influential and inspirational black writers. African American literature covers different eras such as, slavery, southern reconstruction, Harlem Renaissance, and the Black Arts Movement.

    Course highlights:

    The highlights of this course were the discussions in the class room. Each discussion focused on different eras in Black Literature. Ms. Benson gives interesting facts and connections from different eras to the current time period. She gives excellent examples and visuals.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

    You really have to read all your readings to keep up with the class. Take notes when discussing the readings because you get a better understanding and also helps with answering questions on the assessments.
