Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I am a exercise and sports science major. After taking this class I had one, a better understanding of the stars, two, a new found interest in something I had never put much thought into. He has such a passion for astronomy. Sitting in class was never boring as he is very interactive using videos, pictures of his travels, and real life scenarios he and his students have conducted to find and discover answers.

    Course highlights:

This class starts with the basics about rainbows and how they are formed. Progressing further you learn about the different constellations, planets in the solar system, how many moons each planet has, the types of gases each planet emits, the electromagnetic spectrum, and last but not least... that astronomy is not astrology. Dr. Olson made that very clear.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend to take this course during a normal semester. I enrolled and completed the course during a summer semester and it is a lot of information to absorb during a five week period. I feel a normal fall or spring semester would give you adequate time to immerse yourself in the class and retain all the information given.
