Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Chandler is clear, and precise in her class. If you need help, she will gladly help you. She provides videos to give you a better visualization of the lessons she will teach. Her lectures have slides that have pictures and information that are clear and easy to follow. You need to purchase the textbook, and the online homework to do her quizzes. If you need to refer back to her slides, you can find them online in TRACS.

    Course highlights:

I have learned that the Tetrahymena is a single-celled protist that is usually found in freshwater streams and lakes, and can tolerate diverse environments. It is used as a model organism in eukaryotic cell biology to study numerous cellular processes. It has helped scientists lead to the investigations on the effects of different drugs, ribosomes, etc. by using eukaryotic vacuole formation.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the lessons in the textbook before class. It is really important to know prior knowledge before the actual lecture day. Always remember to do the quizzes online before the deadline. Quizzes are due ever Sunday at 11:59 pm. However, do no wait last minute to do them, since they are quite long. The quiz questions are online, so finding the answers will be easier.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a required coarse for most bio majors, but taking it with this professor actually made it interesting and enjoyable to attend. She was humorous, and while the course could get boring at times, if you truly mastered the content, it showed up again and again in the upper level courses, so paying attention was rewarded.

    Course highlights:

I learned mainly about ecology, and mendelian genetics. It was more of a survey course designed to dip students feet into the topics of population ecology and evolutionary biology. The lab was super boring but if you put in effort, it is an easy A.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you don't understand something, make sure you ask. The teachers were very open during office hours, and the material is not something that goes away at the end of this course, it will show up again and again. Also, read the textbook because it coincides well with lecture, and the hardy weinburg practice problems are really helpful.
