    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although is not an easy course, I still recommend it because it challenges you and helps you learn, I recommend this course to students who are interested in science and in the medical field.

    Course highlights:

I learn the characteristics of types of bacteria and viruses. I also learned how to perform test that pertain to bacteria. For example the biochemical test are performed to identify the type of bacteria by its characteristics in the test.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

To go over the material every day especially after the lecture day. To study for test is best to study with a group to discuss topics. The most important thing is to go to every class and pay attention.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you enjoy science and biology then this course is perfect. It is a little intense information wise but is very doable.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much in this course that was applied in the lab. You learn about bacteria and how to culture and also the methods that are used in lab. You can use the information from this class in research.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Defintley show up to class. Attendance is not required but if you miss a day you will regret it. Have study groups, the notes are based on the professor talking so if you miss something it is good to have friends in the class. DO NOT wait until the night before to study. I have a habit of doing this myself but after the first exam I realized I could not do this. Each exam has many concepts that you need to know. Do not just memorize the notes. A lot of the questions asked pertain to real world situations especially if you are pre-med. Learn how to apply the conepts to medical sitations. If you do well in this course it helps for the next bio classes in a biology major you will do good in bio 2450.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was such an interesting course. A little difficult but Dr. Abel loved to elaborate on the subject and make it interesting.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much about microbes and how they effect our lives. It was so interesting to learn about all the diseases and disorders caused by these living organisms and how to treat them.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook! Reading may take a while but it is so beneficial in this course. Quiz yourself and try to teach it to friends. This is a touch course but if you study hard an A is definitely possible.
