Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course work is not heavy, compared to other classes, the professor understands that “life happens” too. If you get sick or an emergency comes up, he is willing to help you out with due dates. The material is easy to understand and the class has an upbeat atmosphere in it. The first day of class was unlike most classes, our professor leveled with us differently than most would. He sat in a desk so he was on our level, and described himself not as a teacher but a coach. When you prepare for the speech you truly are prepared because when it is over students give feedback and they the professor speaks to you as if he is training you alone on how to do better, while in all actuality the class is listening too because this helps them just as much as you. You see more improvement because instead of giving a speech and sitting back down you stay up there and run it again after the feedback and you do so much better than before.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course is what you walk away with. You are so much better than you thought at standing up and speaking to others, you can be confident and you know that while there is no such thing as a perfect speech, you can give your absolute best speech possible. You go in thinking that this is just another speech class where I can sound and look like a fool in front of others, when in all reality you are doing your absolute best as well as the other students. You can be afraid and that it is perfectly normal to be, but when you are done you walk away better than when you walked in. I personally thought that I would be making up a speech as I went along, bumbling my way through the class lost as can be, but nothing could be farther from the truth. I am confident when I walk in as are many other students. Our professor has taken teachable moments and turned them into life lessons, lessons I will remember long after I complete my goals in furthering my education. Many of the fundamentals taught in the course itself can be applied to life outside of school if you shine the right light on it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My tips for future student is to not make assumptions at to what you believe you can do in front of an audience, but to embrace your underlying talents that spur you to be better. Do not mess around and wait for the last minute to complete an assignment either, while the professor is easy to get along with his exams are not a walk in the park. He gives ample time to complete them because they are take home tests but they require a great amount of time and thought. You cannot expect to just receive a grade in this class with no work, it takes a lot but is truly worth it.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I did not live off of campus but I had a few friends who did. There is an apartment complex really close to campus.

    Course highlights:

The apartments aren't too bad but I'm not too sure about the price. I also had another friends who rented a house with three other roommates so I guess that's an option.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

There are a couple of options but you have to find them yourself because the school only advertises on campus housing.
