    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I will only recommend this course if you are LUCKY to get a GOOD/DECENT Teaching Assistant. Vida has the hardest and most challenging exams. He is notorious for them. So if you were to get a BAD TA, your grades will suffer even more with the exams! No transitioning courses before this class just Genetics lecture is needed.

    Course highlights:

I learned to better manage my time with this class. This class is VERY time consuming and requires a lot of writing compared to other classes. SO be prepared to write! The highlights of this course was working with live subjects which made it fun and intriguing. This lab consists of working in a group throughout the course. If you have friends taking this course, be sure to sign up in the same section so you don't have to worry about having bad good members!

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Read up on genetic crosses, mutations, crossovers, genetic mapping and more. Also, be prepared to work with others and write papers. A final manuscript is a big component of your final grade. You will be lucky if you get a nice and capable TA for your lab as they grade all of your papers which make up a big part of your grade. DO NOT TAKE IT WITH CAMERON LOVE (TA) , if you get him, RUN! I passed this lab but having him was a nightmare. MANAGE your time well and communicate with your group! Direct your questions to the professor. He is very involved in his labs and will take time to help you. Be prepared for difficult exams though.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

A hardworking class that teaches you more genetics than genetic class

    Course highlights:

Highlight of the class was the freedom of managing your own work. I learned to breed flys, recombination, and writing long scientific paper.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Sit at a table that looks like hard workers and take easy classes with this course.
