Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Chan was a good teacher who kept the student interested in the material.

    Course highlights:

being able to construct algorithms and see them operate

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend getting ahead in course material so as to have an idea of what you're going to learn in the next class, and thus more clearly understand it when the teacher reviews the content.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course IS recommended, butI think that Rao, although wita bit of bad reputation, has one of the clearest and most memorable ways of teaching. He is easy to listen to, and tests often which is essential to remembering. This course is vital to the rest of your education, even your career! Matlab, and programming in general, are essentials for an engineering in this day and age.

    Course highlights:

Rao has you recreate many of the basic tools of Matlab, from finding the largest number in a set of numbers or sorting a set of numbers from highest to lowest. These can all be done by Matlab without much thought, but Rao forces you to recreate these elements and does not let you take it for granted. This gives you a fundamental feel for the programming language and mentality and helped me develop a diferent way of attacking problems.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homeworks. Do notcheat these assignments because they are the hardest problems you will see in the entire course. Rao has this beautiful way of teaching where homework will always be the hardest portion of the class, then quizzes, and then, if you have done your work, the tests should be the easiest portion of the class. Everything you see on the tests are in your assignments in one way or another. If you do the homework, you will do well.
