Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This professor knows what she is talking about. She is very passionate about sociology and definitely shows it. Not only does she care about the course, but also for her students. She is always available for questions and replies to her email by the next day. She keeps the class engaging by asking questions and cracking some jokes. Definitely enjoyed this class, and would take it again if I could!

    Course highlights:

The group work was a highlight of this course. A college classroom setting is not like high school, but the group work forced students to talk to each other, and sometimes meet out of class to form study groups. We worked on group journals, which were 3-4 questions to answer, and would not be too hard. We learned the basics of sociology and gained insight on different perspectives, such as religion and gender. The best part about this was that people, and especially the professor, kept an open mind and we got to hear many people's perspectives without it being awkward.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You NEED to go to class to succeed. Part of the grade comes from participation, so definitely show up to class. The more you show up to class, pay close attention, and take notes, the less you have to read the textbook. Still, some of the questions on her exams come from her lectures, so going to class is the best thing to do.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was a fairly easy class as long as you completed all of the online homework and paid attention during class. The tests were taken in the testing center so make sure to study well before hand.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of things for this being an introduction class. I wasn't sure I would be interested in it but i was.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to attend classes and pay attention. Dorsey is very big on class participation and group activities. Make sure to work with your group because there are evaluations at the end concerning your group.
