    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Who you choose to take with pretty much determines how you will do in this class. A GOOD and capable Professor is CRITICAL for ORGO I. Unless you are naturally good at chemistry. (Note: Your performance in general chemistry classes may differ in Organic Chemistry!) So ask around, do your research on who to take, what type of learner you are, your strengths and weaknesses. Then choose the most fitting professor, obviously to begin with, one that can actually teach Organic Chemistry! It is easy to get lost in this class!!

    Course highlights:

I learned to really push myself with this course. I am a Biology major and Organic Chem I was challenging. If Chemistry is not your strongest subject, taking workshops and tutoring is highly recommended. A STRONG STRONG knowledge and background in GEN CHEM is a recommended. If you struggled with GEN CHEM, not necessary that you will fail, it is still possible to do well in ORGO I, it is with a good professor and a determined mindset.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

TAKE DAUGULIS, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE IT WITH OGJAN MILIJANIC! Make sure your knowledge of GEN CHEM is fresh. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. If you are struggling, don't try to read the textbook, ask for help from your professor! If your professor is bad, then invest in tutoring or workshops! If you are having trouble in this class, don't rely on yourself to understand.. Working harder by yourself to understand will not help, you will need someone to explain it to you.
