Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Cheek was my very first professor at UH! Her lectures are engaging and entertaining making your time in there worthwhile. She is very helpful in her office hours and she has high respect towards her students.

    Course highlights:

It was my first science class at UH and one of my favorites. I learned good study habits in this class such as studying little by little every night and going over lectures after class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would pay attention to her case studies presented in class and read the book. The lectures are also easier to understand if you read briefly before class. I highly recommended recitation as it is only an hour and you can learn a lot under the teaching assistants.

    This class was tough.

If your want to really begin to learn in a way that is more realistic to a health profession work setting this is a perfect course.

    Course highlights:

I learned to know concepts like the back of my hand.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not be afraid to ask questions and review the materials using your notes and other outside sources.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course will expand your thinking beyond what you already know! There is so much that you should learn, such as yourself! Ever wonder how you and the things around you function? It is extraordinary! To me, at least. If you ever take this course, I would recommend learning from Dr. Farmer. She is excellent at explaining the different topics we learn in this course. She has a great humor as well!

    Course highlights:

My highlights of this course were getting to know more about yourself and how you function. One interesting thing I learned was, we have many different microorganisms that dwell in our stomach that aid in digestion! We call it the microbiome. We collect different organisms and we don't realize it!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Remember to look over the lecture notes on the day of the lecture. It helps to retain information at a later time. If you continuously look at your notes (even for a few minutes) every day, it will be easier to remember. Don't wait until the last minute! The class isn't terribly difficult, but it isn't easy.
