This class was tough.
Course Overview:
Dr. Morgan can go pretty fast with the material, but the resources are all there. He heavily promotes student cooperation so participate in the forums as much as possible and PAY ATTENTION TO THEOREMS. Theorems are perhaps the most important part of this subject, so learn how to solve the problems but also know how to explain what you are doing and why you are doing it.
Course highlights:
The entirety of linear algebra is matrices, but that does not keep it from being difficult. I learned the multiple purposes of matrices and their practical applications in the chemical and geophysical world.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Khan academy really is everyone's best resource, but do the problems and review them a couple times. Putting in the work is worth it when you can remember what it is you did weeks later on exam day.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
He was a great professor. Very understanding, although the course went very sat in the summer, he was still very helpful and was able to give good explanations to the class. He also had a very fair grading system.
Course highlights:
He really cared about the understanding of the material and the students. He knew it was the summer, and it was hard for many students, but he was always very understanding. He also gave optional Friday lecture as time for extra review on exams.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
Make sure you do the homework and that you pay attention in class. He really tried to walk through material with the class in a great way through proofs.
