Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great way to dip your feet in the world of chemistry. This is a great life science course and is relatively easy especially if you do not like any other science courses. This could be taken as review class to get a refresher on chemistry before you take any other chemistry classes especially is the last time you took chemistry was in high school. The professor is knowledgeable, however, if chemistry is not your thing I would advise against it.

    Course highlights:

Learning about basic chemistry rules, reviewing significant figures, memorizing polyatomic ions, balancing equations, and studying various chemical reactions were some of the things this course taught. There are quizzes, exams and in lecture activities that help facilitate learning of topics.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the subjects/topics. Its easy sometimes to procrastinate but it will only hurt your grade especially because the course moves fast and every topic builds on the previous topics. Know your polyatomic ions and memorize key elements from periodic table!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is expected to be difficult because it is a difficult subject, however throughout the semester I found that if I simply read my textbook and practiced the practice questions in the book I was okay. The professor mostly read off the textbook anyway and was great for answering questions.

    Course highlights:

Though this doesn't have much to do with the subject, I met a lot of people in this class. The challenging subject allowed for a lot of class collaboration and study groups.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Only take this if you understood chemistry in HS, otherwise it will be a struggle since you cram so much information in only one semester. Make sure to network and study with others if you take the class.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I enjoyed the course and the complementary lab. I am applying for nursing school and this course has better prepared me for the entrance exam.

    Course highlights:

I gained the knowledge of fundamental chemistry which is the basic of other courses I will have to take.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You cannot get a A in this course if you do not study and practice problems. Also, always do your homework problems because similar ones may appear of the exams.
