    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

She is the co-coordinator and tries to do new and different things in her studio. She teaches the students both hand and digital work which is really helpful going forward.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was learning the digital software and understanding how to effectively manage your time.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This course is time consuming and you wont have time to do much else. You really need to prepare for it. A background with some architecture work and using software will be really helpful.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a very rigorous course. Architecture studio first semester is a major test on your sanity, work ethic, and time management. Professor Plauche is the best professor I have yet to endure in Architecture, and highly recommend her your second semester if you do not get her your first!

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were finishing projects. It is such a relief to finish a project and look at your work and how you have improved over time. I learned new things after each project, but overall learned how to complete them in better ways than before.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared. Have time management, and don't slack off during the day otherwise you will never get your work done.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Michael Gonzales is a great professor for first year! His ideas differ from others professors and give you a very open concept idea base to work from. His unique approach towards teaching and grading allows you room to begin growing into the architectural mindset. I'm incredibly lucky to have been in attendance of such an awesome professor!

    Course highlights:

Throughout this course you will learn many concepts and theories, especially ones discussed within class. Each day will always be different from the last. What you learn and take away is what you interpret and grasp from the daily class discussions and meetings from pin ups. ALWAYS pay attention and take notes whenever your professor talks directly to you about your work or in general about any work shown. They don't talk for fun! Everything they tell you and talk about with you will help you grow as an individual in the school of architecture.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This course will be the factor that allows you to know if this major choice is for you. From what you learn and see they expect more and more each year and for you to build upon every skill each new semester and be able to combine things in a logically and beautiful way. If you dislike this course and think the workload is too difficult or challenging to understand this may not be the major for you, and that's okay! This course will still give you the insight that's its okay to approach projects and ideas in many different ways! Also the most important factor about this class is TIME MANAGMENT. Manage your time for everything or you will fall behind. Plan time every day even non-class days to work and stay on top of your projects or you will fall behind quickly!
