Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Buckman had great chemistry with the class, interacted with each student throughout each session. It was a comfortable environment to speak up and ask questions during his lectures. He was able to apply his lecture from the book to his real life professional experiences. We were able to focus on realistic situations that happen in a business setting and how to properly communicate issues or resolutions with those whom we work with.

    Course highlights:

A highlight from the class was a speech we had to do in front of the class at the end of the semester. The subject was about something that had made us stronger. During the semester we had countless of discussions about obstacles that we would face in the business world and how to deal with them as they come. An obstacle that I was facing at the moment was a personal one that included a family member in the hospital that held me back from keeping focus on my college career. Taking this class and having this assignment while going through a rough time really made me think about my future. It made me take into account all the lectures that we had gone through as a class about obstacles in order to communicate my obstacle in the speech to the class in a professional way. Students have busy lives with school, work and everyday life that we can forget sometimes how strong we truly are. Doing this speech helped me remind myself of what made me strong and to push myself even more. Listening to others do their speech gave me more insight about my classmates and learned new things from having so many different points of views. We motivated each other in what made us strong and for that I learned more what I expected to.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

As a shy individual, I feel like this class did help me. Going into the business world, it is important to have mentors and role models to give advice and to share experiences. Communicate is very important. Having that tool and knowing how to handle certain situations especially in the business world will be very beneficial.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

There are some group activities I would recommend making friends during those activities so when it comes to to give your presentation you will be comfortable with the people in the classroom and you wont be so nervous.
