    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I dont think most people take this class for fun it is more of a requirement so I wouldn't neccessarily recommend it but I do suggest you take it if you want to finish your degree

    Course highlights:

Gen chem lays out the basic science framework for the next classes you take, whether its organic chemistry, or biology, this class lays out what you need to know to be successful in the latter classes you will take.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure that you keep up on ALEKS as it can pile up on your really fast because you cannot move on the next section without first finishing the previous lessons. Definately do the assigned problems in the back of the book, they are not for a grade but the professors use them to make the tests. They use easy examples in class, but on the test they are more complex. Just make sure you dont get behind on studying, also you should join PLTL or atleast go to SI sessions!

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is one of the preparatory courses for future harder courses. Everything learnt in this course would be applied to several future courses.

    Course highlights:

In this course, i was able to learn about various chemical processes and engage in experiments which helped me explore these chemical processes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To pass this course, the best thing is to pay attention in class and review the class materials regularly. It is very easy to procrastinate while taking this course but once you are behind with the course materials, it is harder to catch up. While taking this course, go to class regularly and review at least once a day to make sure that you are up to date with the materials.
