Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is an introduction of sociology that also values how and why Christians should care about our American system. This class is very eye-opening as it involves you to participate in class and share your experiences and hear about your fellow classmates' experiences in life.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course range from oppression in: race, class, gender, the different sociological expectations in different countries, and more. The professor provides clear lectures and makes the class watch videos, read about other's experiences, and sociological studies and statistics about different issues our country faces.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice for the class is be open-minded. The moment you start invalidating a person's struggles and experiences in life shows how ignorant we can be. Don't slack off in reading material for the class and keep up with any papers the professor assigns. This class is neither easy nor difficult. But it does require a lot of self-reflection and requires you to ask yourself hard questions sometimes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course brought light to issues that need to be heard of and brought confirmation to me that studying sociology is the right major for me. I thoroughly enjoyed learning the issues concerning gender inequality, issues in racism, and crime and punishment.

    Course highlights:

This course has shown me how to become an active positive citizen in my community and how to better understand how people interact socially. Learning about conflicts seen in today's day and age helped me understand how to confront those situations in my own life and how to help those in my community.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

By simply paying attention and taking the required notes you are able to get so much out of the class. If you study the review sheets you are given you are sure to pass easily. Put in the time and effort to the assignments and you will do just fine!
