    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I loved learning about art and music (and even literature) in this class, but it was very strenuous for a non-music major. Every test we took included 6 essays, about 200 words each.

    Course highlights:

I loved reading excerpts of Don Quixote! I also loved how we could compare art styles of many different time periods against each other.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read everything on time, and do all the extra credit essays. They will save your grade.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He is a great professor who knows the material very well. He also does a wonderful job covering the material in a way that students can relate to.

    Course highlights:

One of the highlights of the course for me were the art units. I was fascinated in learning about the different eras and the artwork associated with them. Dr. Howard had extensive knowledge on every piece he presented to the class, given his travels and background, and was able to explain each piece thoroughly.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you go to lectures and take detailed notes on the lectures! If you take detailed notes on the lecture, reading the book isn't too difficult and as necessary.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is challenging, but INCREDIBLY rewarding! If you really love the arts, it will be worth the hard work!

    Course highlights:

I feel so much more familiar with famous works of art, music and literature. I feel more cultured!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the readings and be listening to the music excerpts throughout the semester, not just at the last minute.
