    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a great course in helping me understand concepts of ancient art history because before this class I never had an interest in art. I learned the different styles, types, and iconography of a variety works of art in each era of art up to 1500. There is so much symbolism that can be learned from in each and every piece of art and it can be learned by anyone. I also recommend this class because it opens your mind to think about the world in a different way because of the stories the art works tell about a country, city, or cultures history and lifestyle. There is so much to learn in this course if one will simply apply themselves.

    Course highlights:

As described in the previous box there are so many insights that can be obtained from this course. The highlight of the course is learning to understand and read art from looking at it. The understanding of iconography in itself is thrilling because its such a joy once one can truly see the meaning of a work of art. You also learn a lot about history during this course which is simply fascinating. I would highly recommend this to anyone because art is something that did not interest me but I was enthralled by what I learned during this course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The best way to succeed in this class is to make sure you are at every class and to pay attention to the Head Liners given by the teacher. With the exams, the best technique is to create flash cards with facts on one side and the art work on the other. This is what the successful students in the class did in order to memorize the terms required. If you do this then the class will be a great class.
