Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is actually a Gen Ed but out of all the options it is the easiest. Dr. Jensen is very understanding and will help you with any problems you have. She is also very good at explaining the concepts and how things work.

    Course highlights:

This course teaches you the basic foundations for all life on earth, including human life, when looked at scientifically. You go right down to the cell and in the process you learn more about yourself and the world around you.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework every time it is assigned. I did well on the tests but struggled at sitting down and actually doing the assignments so I ended the course with a C.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Marci is one of the best teachers I've ever had! She's engaging and makes the material fun and easy to remember.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of the course was the final. Instead of taking a test, we were tasked with creating a creature that would live in the world of The Lord of the Ring. We had to take into account the geography and ecosystems, making it biologically plausible that it could exist.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Listening in class and taking notes will help you more than the textbook will.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The in-class discussions were always interesting. Prof. Adams would always relate the subject to relevant topics so we would have a deeper understanding. Of course, biology terminology is very specific, so you had to work hard to keep track of the terms for tests.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was that the final project was an assignment to create a organism that could exist in one of the habitats found in the Lord of the Ring movies. We had to take in account all the factors that decide an organism's survival. From color, to diet, to predator-prey interactions, it was an extensive project that required us to use the principles we learned over the semester.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say attend lecture and the test reviews because the explanation of the slides is necessary for the tests. Also, make friends because there are quite a few group projects. It is a good class for the general science requirement.
