    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class gives you the skills and knowledge to be an effective public speaker

    Course highlights:

I gained confidence in my abilities as a speaker. I was taught the format and how to give different speeches and had the chance to speak six different times over the course of the semester. I learned what to avoid when giving a speech and how to connect to my audience so they get the most out of a presentation.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Turn everything in on time and start early! Practicing what you are learning outside of class is very helpful and review notes that they hand out in class. Do your research on the topics you present and don't forget to breathe before you present (everyone gets nervous and it is ok if you are too).

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It is a nice small class where you really get to know your peers and your instructor. I learned how to communicate to groups easily and how to be confident in front of others as well. Everything I learned can help me in some aspect in my life, whether it be through church or through my future career.

    Course highlights:

Probably just being able to practice giving speeches in front of my class to help me learn from each one and continually improving each month.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Just follow the syllabus and Ms. McKay and you will be good to go.
