Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

First of all, this is a required class so you have to take it anyway. Second of all, it's really helpful for the future. There's a lot of essay writing in college, and professional writing in life. This class is the first step towards learning to be a better writer, and applying what you learn.

    Course highlights:

You've got to be open to what you learn otherwise you're going to hate the class, especially if you're not a writer (or if you're more of a fiction writer).

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Get the textbook before the first week of school! The required textbook for all of your courses are listed on line so there's no way you can say "I didn't know which one" because the list is way detailed, with titles, edition numbers, and ISBN numbers too. Once you have it, use it. Read the assigned chapters. And even though you can see all the assignments and due dates on a campus, GO TO CLASS. You might make a friend or two.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I'm indifferent to the class. It was a necessary course for my intended major. The class really helps you being able to identify trustworthy sources, which really helps later in writing finals for classes.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to source in APA style. It really helped teach how to integrate sources well and to make sure that they were credible.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure that you have the books required and do your reading. When you think that you have a lot of time to complete an assignment, you'll learn that that time runs out fast and that the time she gives you is a minimum amount needed. Spend extra time studying how to do APA citing (especially if you're switching over from MLA, like me). Use your resources! I can't stress that enough. My papers improved immensely once I used sources like the librarians for sourcing. The campus librarians WILL help you become successful. The campus has places to go where you can schedule time with someone to help you with your paper--use it!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved this class. I got to explore how I was as a writer and also how to follow how certain professors like things done. We had really good class discussions that made me think about what I know and that I need to research things sometimes because I don't know everything.

    Course highlights:

My favorite paper was the very first one we did about an important time in your life. It not only showed me the importance of little things in my life, but it also showed me a different side of my peers. I also loved the political paper we wrote during the 2016 election. I made me really research the candidates and not just take to value what I heard on the news.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to write a couple paper and come with opinions. You are allowed to have an opinion and encouraged to share it with the class.
